Cohort Studios buzzing over new release article image

Dundee-based Cohort Studios have been hard at work on their newest addition to the Buzz! Jr series. The East coast development team have previously provided resources for PS3 launch title, Motorstorm and provided their development expertise for the hugely popular Burnout franchise.

Recent work with SCEE has produced two acclaimed titles in Sony's popular Buzz! Junior series. The early-2008 release of Buzz! Jr: Dino Den had no problem holding it's own in the upper reaches of the UK PlayStation Chart, and we've just received a press release for Cohort's second game in the series, Buzz! Jr: Ace Racers.

Ace Racers is a prime example of Sony's retaliation to Nintendo's appeal to younger gamers. Players can take hold of their Buzz! buzzers for easy control of sixteen vehicles as they tear around one of the thirty circuits on land, sea and air.

There are a number of challenges all based around racing. Players can race together in the team mode, or against each other in a flat-out race for the finish line.

Lol Scragg, CEO of Cohort Studios, told us, “We're very pleased to have Buzz! Junior: Ace Racers, the latest Buzz! Junior game released. Our previous title in the series, Buzz! Junior: Dino Den, was very well received and generated a lot of positive feedback, from the media and games press, as well as from consumers themselves.

"We learned a great deal developing that title and used that experience to design something quite new for SCEE in Buzz! Junior: Ace Racers. It takes the essence of racing games and the feeling of toy cars and puts them into an interactive form which is again proving very popular with kids and adults alike.”

Buzz! Jr: Ace Racers is out now on PS2 from all major high street and online retailers. Check out the official site for all the info you could ever need.
