The legend of Pandora’s Box.  Could it contain the secrets of the Gods, the remains of an ancient society, or did someone typo ‘Pandora’s lunch box’ and it contains a 5000 year old tuna sandwich?

When Charles Deckard breaks into the museum to steal the contents of the newly discovered mysterious box, with a huge beam of light he releases all of the demons and creatures from Pandora’s Box.

Somehow, he needs to get them all back in or kill them before they destroy society as we know it. Armageddon is on the horizon...

This is not your typical shoot-em-up, 'you against the world', game; detailed graphics, realism and decent support from your allies (compared to many other recent games), make this game stand out.

Chasing down the creatures through New York and London, you come across subway tunnels, ‘car corridors’ and warehouses.  Just when you think you are starting to get the hang of things, you find out that there is an army out there trying to steal Pandora’s Box.

Fighting the monsters up close and personal is tough (especially the Werewolves - they keep getting up if you don’t shoot them in the head).  Fighting the army however, is another story; they come for you from a distance.  Together, they are a formidable force and give you a harsh beating through out the game.

Then there are your allies. They are quite helpful in fire fights do well generally but like most games they die quite easily. Which is a pain but for the fact they are an extra distraction for the enemy.

The graphics enhance the creatures’ looks; as scary as you would expect them to look like if they were real. Werewolves in particular are annoying, no matter how much lead you pump into them if you don’t take off their head with a bullet or by using your trusty fire axe they get back up and have another go at you. It’s helpful to know this since besides the soldiers they become your most common irritation whilst you’re going around doing the ‘hero’ thing.

The locations that you go to aren’t varied as much as they should have been. You pretty much go from New York to the outskirts of London then inner London with another trip through New York. The game could have been a bit longer and adding in more locations and different creatures would have given it more lasting appeal.

All of this aside it’s a good game, the story is decent most of the time.  Legendary is a definite game for the season – a perfect stocking stuffer from Santa.
