Do you yearn for a challenge? Do you really want something that will push you, but you really can't be dealing with anything complicated or anything that takes a lot of time.
Button combos? NO THANKS. Complex plots with pseudo moral choices which affect the overall outcome of the game? BAH. In depth skill trees which allow you to choose any of a million different ways of tackling a scenario? BORING.
If this is how you brain runs (including the all caps) then Canabalt is for you. A seriously simple game that is challenging, fun, atmospheric, intense and pretty darn cool.
The aim: leg it. The controls: jump. JOB DONE.
Escape across the rooftops out of a city in the midst of an alien invasion. Dodge crates and giant gaps in between buildings and the occasional bomb. Get as far as you can.
As an iPhone conversion of a flash game this is pure gaming crack. The distance you make it across the city is your score (which the game even chucks this up onto Twitter so you can see how far your pals are getting) - and with the levels being randomly generated, every go is a different challenge.
There is nothing bad here. Only awesomeness. Great sound, great visuals, slick and simple (did I say it was simple?). Say bye to your bus stop and hello to ‘One more go, I should have dodged that...Grrr'. Plus it's less than two quid. Get it, and see how far one finger can really get you.
