Ever since the introduction of Avatars - no don't get excited we're not talking about James Cameron's nausea inducing blockbuster in late 2008 (try sitting on the front row of the cinema if you don't understand), developers have been attempting to justify the existence of these misshapen representations with a plethora of other similar ideas. Joining this pointless quest is developer Danimal with Avatar Boogie.

It's not easy being a Stalker. You get up each morning in your beached oil tanker home, shoot some mutant dogs and then hunt down radioactive trinkets hidden in a spacetime distortion so violent that it's cleaved a mountain in two [so not the type that peers into windows and makes obscene phonecalls? -Ed]

If you enjoyed the mind-warping MC Escher world that was echochrome, then prepare to move from three dimensions to four with the release of echoshift from Artoon and Sony. Dropping the floating platforms used in the previous game, the little mannequin man’s simple world has become a series of fixed, linear courses filled with walls, gaps, and holes blocking his way out.

Guitar Hero Van Halen by Dan Pearson | 09-03-10

It's time to don your 80's mullet, Lycra pants and trusty wireless guitar whilst rocking out to some of the seminal hits of the hair rock era with Guitar Hero Van Halen. Yes that button bashing cash cow Guitar Hero returns with another collection from a band willing to sell their souls for a few bucks; this time it's Van Halen, rooting through their back catalogue to pick some of their greatest hits.

Dizzy Drops by Brian Ashford | 08-03-10

Dizzy Drops is actually a very simple game: Drops of paint fall from the sky which you have to catch in buckets at the bottom of the screen. The paint comes in four colours and you have to match the paint to the correctly coloured bucket by swapping the buckets around. Easy enough at first this soon becomes harder as the paint starts falling faster, or from lower clouds or when multiple drops fall together.
