Fans of the original games have often lamented the change in pacing and direction taken by Capcom since Resident Evil 4. For them then, Lost in Nightmares, the first of two substantial sets of downloadable content (DLC), seems to be a throwback to the classic survival horror routes of the franchise and features not a small amount of fan pandering.

Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned by Michael Black | 14-12-09

More of the same is a common approach to downloadable add-ons for games, especially when the game is huge and what’s more is that, quite often, that’s fine by itself. It’s the approach taken with The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, available for Borderlands on PS3, 360 and PC. If you smell a “but” coming (pun about zombie bowels notwithstanding), it’s because it doesn’t work out so well for Borderlands.

Rock Band 2 by Dave Cook | 31-12-08

Deja vu is really odd. You feel like you have seen or done something before, but then you slowly realise that you actually haven't. Rock Band 2 instills this same feeling. At first glance, it looks more like a rather expensive add-on instead of a full blown sequel. Aesthetically, this may be the case, but developer Harmonix ironed out the kinks from the first installment and delivers what is perhaps the most competent music-based title to date.
