When it comes to Christmas I can be a bit of a scrooge. Generally speaking, the closest I get to 'festive' is drinking too much past the jolly side of a bottle of whisky. In fact, it would probably all be much easier if once a year we all went out and splashed a load of money on whatever we wanted for ourselves. Still, loads of folk love Christmas and spend ages fretting about what to get their friends and family. This can be especially difficult when we consider the gamer, and even more so if you or your family can't tell their Wii from their PS3.

When developer Neversoft first announced it was working on this, gamers, hacks and pundits everywhere scoffed at the idea that a Guitar Hero game based around the career of one band could possibly work. Call it a social experiment, as it will be interesting to see if the band's popularity rises as a result of the game. For the most part, this game is already a success.
